Fatai Adekunle Adetayo, a veteran actor, has stated that a costumier once charmed a costume he wore during a film shoot. He said he picked a costume to wear, but the costumier asked to add finishing touches to it, and he innocently handed it over.
In an interview with Oyinmomo TV, Adetayo said when he eventually wore the costume on the day of the shoot, he suddenly felt very cold. He stated that he drank some medicine, sweated heavily, and later felt fine enough to complete his role.
Adetayo said about twenty years later, the same costumier prostrated before him and begged for forgiveness. He stated that the costumier confessed he had charmed his costume when he collected it to add finishing touches. He added that the costumier died a week after confessing.
In Adetayo’s words: “Twenty years later that costumier, he was at least 25 years older than I am, he prostrated before me. I asked why and asked him to stand up. He said he was not going to stand up till I told him I had forgiven him. He kept saying I was a man. He said he offended me, I said I forgave him and I asked what he did. He said he charmed the costume he collected from me the other time. I said no wonder I felt that strange cold but I ended up playing the role, so I forgave him.
