Yinusa Tanko, Global Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Worldwide, has sparked debate with his remarks on the late Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi, reflecting on his leadership and eventual downfall.
Tanko made the comments during an interview on SYMFONI TV, where he spoke on governance, leadership legacies, and the often-volatile nature of political power, particularly in Africa and the Middle East. His remarks come amid ongoing discussions about leadership accountability and the lessons contemporary politicians can draw from past regimes.
“I was just analyzing Gaddafi a while ago. Muammar Gaddafi did extremely well for his people. But look at the way they killed him like a rat,” Tanko said during the interview.
The Obidient Movement coordinator noted that while Gaddafi’s administration had its controversies, some of his policies were seen by supporters as beneficial to the Libyan people, particularly in areas such as infrastructure and social welfare.
