The North Brought Out Atiku To Complete Their 8 Years But They Used Jonathan’s Incumbency -Kenneth Okonkwo

Kenneth Okonkwo, spokesperson for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has alleged that the north united behind Atiku Abubakar in 2011 to complete the eight-year power rotation left incomplete after the death of President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, but former President Goodluck Jonathan’s incumbency was used to block it.

Speaking in an interview with Channels Television, Okonkwo said: “In 2011, the entire north came together, and four candidates contested from the north, Buhari, Gusau, Saraki, and Atiku. The north brought out Atiku to complete their eight years, but they refused and used the incumbency of Jonathan to compel a shift of power to the south before the north completed their eight years.”

Okonkwo argued that Atiku remains the greatest victim of this political injustice, insisting that the north collectively presented him as their consensus candidate, only for Jonathan’s incumbency advantage to override their claim to power rotation.
