Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has announced an additional donation of ₦200 million to the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Azare, bringing the state government’s total contribution to the facility to ₦400 million, as reported by NIGERIAN TRIBUNE on Sunday July 12, 2026.
The Governor made the disclosure during an inspection visit to the federal health institution, where he commended the hospital’s achievements six months after the commencement of full clinical services.
According to the report, the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Azare, situated in Hawul Local Government Area of Borno State, has attended to approximately 4,000 patients and successfully carried out over 300 major orthopaedic procedures, including hip and knee replacements, as well as spine surgeries, since inception.
Governor Zulum described the hospital’s performance within its first six months of operation as a reflection of dedication, visionary leadership, and patriotism on the part of its management.
