The story of popular Nigerian broadcaster Rotimi Martins, known everywhere as Alariwo of Africa, shows how love can completely change someone’s life. His journey from being kicked out of his family home to achieving his first major financial success is both heartbreaking and inspiring. It proves that sometimes the people who believe in us during our worst times become the foundation of our greatest achievements.
In a moving interview with Talk To B, Alariwo shared how he met the woman who would become his wife during one of the most difficult periods of his life. At that time, he had very little money and was struggling to survive on the streets, but fate had different plans for him.
“Along the line, I met a woman I call my life. My wife came on the line. My wife was very comfortable, her mother was into provisions. Being a street boy, she used to help me out. The first day I saw my wife, I told her I will marry you and she said I can’t fool her. I met my wife through my friend I was living with,” he recalled with clear emotion.
The broadcaster was completely honest about his situation when they first met. He was not the famous personality that people know today. When asked if he was already well-known at that time, he gave a straightforward answer: “No.”
Their meeting was purely by chance, showing how life can surprise us when we least expect it. “I met her through the guy I was living with, his girlfriend came with my wife and she was my wife’s best friend,” he explained, describing how a simple social visit changed his entire future.
Alariwo also opened up about the family struggles that led to his difficult circumstances. His passion for music created serious problems at home, resulting in a painful break with his family that left him with nowhere to turn.
“My father kicked me out (of the house) because he didn’t want me to do music. I used to be from a comfortable home,” he revealed, showing how his choice to follow his dreams came with a heavy personal cost.
This rejection from his family must have been especially hard because he had grown up in a comfortable environment. Suddenly finding himself homeless and without support would have broken many people’s spirits. But Alariwo had something that kept him going – his determination to succeed and the love of a woman who saw his potential when others could not.
Despite facing such serious challenges, Alariwo never gave up on either his career goals or his promise to marry the woman he loved. His persistence in both areas eventually paid off in the most beautiful way.
“Along the line, I said to my wife that I will marry her and I did. It was tough but when I had my first child, that was the first time I saw one million naira in my account,” Alariwo revealed.
The birth of his first child coinciding with his first major financial breakthrough created a memory that will stay with the family forever. It shows how love, family, and hard work can help someone overcome even the most difficult situations and build the life they dream of……See More
