Afeez Oyetoro, widely known as Saka, has not always been comfortable with the fast-paced life of Lagos. Coming from a rural background, he found the city overwhelming and difficult to adapt to when he first arrived.
In a YouTube interview by Channels Television, Saka shared that the demands of Lagos life—like waking up early to beat traffic and keeping up with the city’s hustle—were a major shock to his system. He admitted that the pressure became so much at one point that he ran away from his job, only to later return and face the city’s challenges head-on.
Saka believes that learning to survive and thrive in Lagos made him stronger and more resilient. He credits these early struggles for shaping his ability to handle adversity in both his personal life and career.
In Saka’s words: “The life of Lagos was terrible for me, you know. I’d been in the village for long all my life, you know. When I got to Lagos, you have to wake up 4:00 in the morning because of hold up… I found it very difficult. So I ran away. I told them in the office I want to go to the toilet and I ran away. Later I now came back to face the challenges of Lagos to the glory of God. I think I’m okay now…..See More
