Chief Dele Momodu has responded to comments made by former Rivers State Governor and ADC presidential aspirant, Rotimi Amaechi, who stated during an interview that he had watched Momodu insult him over remarks concerning other ADC aspirants, including Atiku Abubakar.
In a statement shared on his X account, Dele Momodu denied insulting Amaechi. He explained that he only appealed to him not to make disrespectful comments about Atiku, whom he described as a gentleman who continues to show respect to others despite being older than many of them.
Momodu also described Amaechi as his dear friend and brother, emphasizing that their relationship enables them to speak honestly with each other when necessary. According to him, his earlier comments were made out of sincerity and friendship, not as an attack.
The media personality added that he shares the same frank nature as Amaechi and believes true friends should be able to correct one another openly without creating unnecessary conflict.
In his words, “My dear friend and Brother, The Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, I did not abuse you pls. I only pleaded with you not to insult Atiku, a perfect gentleman who, despite the age gap, continues to respect all of us.”
