Olayinka Mocks Makinde, Turaki After GEJ Failed To Come & Submit Nomination From At A Prepared Venue

Media aide and political commentator, Lere Olayinka, has reacted after former President Goodluck Jonathan reportedly failed to appear for the submission of a presidential nomination form at an event organised by a political group linked to preparations for the 2027 elections.

Olayinka, in a strongly worded reaction, mocked efforts allegedly associated with Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, and former Minister, Kabiru Turaki, over the planned nomination exercise.

According to him, organisers had prepared a venue and reportedly waited from the morning until about 4 p.m. for Jonathan to arrive and submit his nomination form.

He claimed that after waiting without seeing the former president, organisers announced an indefinite postponement of the submission exercise.

Olayinka questioned the expectation that Jonathan would contest under what he described as a political structure that was allegedly not recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

He also criticised the organisers’ strategy, arguing that it was unrealistic to expect the former president to participate in the process under such circumstances.

The development has generated reactions within political circles, with supporters and observers debating the viability of emerging alliances and political structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Neither Jonathan nor representatives of Makinde and Turaki had issued official responses to Olayinka’s remarks at the time of filing this report.

The incident adds to growing political conversations surrounding possible alignments, opposition coalitions, and the search for presidential candidates ahead of the next election cycle…….See More
