Braimah:Not A Blame Game, He’s Somebody I Know Very Well, He’s Like A Godson, It’s Very Painful-Musa

Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, has spoken about the death of Brigadier General Oseni Omoh Braimah, who was killed during an attack by Boko Haram fighters on a military base in Benisheikh, Borno State.

The attack, which happened on April 9, 2026, was reported to be intense, with a large number of insurgents overwhelming the troops. There were also claims that the armoured vehicle Braimah was using failed to start, raising concerns about poor maintenance.

In a video shared by Arise TV, Musa, however, pushed back against blaming the late commander for any negligence. He explained that as the brigade commander, Braimah was responsible for overseeing operations, including equipment and personnel in that location. Still, Musa stressed that the situation was not about pointing fingers.

He described Braimah as someone he knew closely and trusted, adding that his death was deeply painful because of his experience and potential. According to him, the scale of the attack played a major role in the outcome.

Musa also used the moment to highlight the importance of proper care for military equipment. He noted that soldiers are trained to treat their weapons as their most reliable tools, maintaining them regularly to ensure they function well in critical moments.

In his words, “Not a blame game, he’s not that kind of person, he’s somebody I know quite very well, he’s like a godson. It’s very painful that we lost somebody like that who has so much capacity.”…….See More
