According to a report by TV Platinum, on Saturday May 16, 2026, Chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Buba Galadima, has issued a stark warning to the nation’s youth, stating that older political a doctors may be forced to continue leading the charge against bad governance if the younger generation fails to actively defend Nigeria’s future.
Galadima made these remarks, where he reflected deeply on Nigeria’s current political trajectory and the critical role citizens must play in demanding accountability from their leaders.
The veteran politician expressed personal frustration at his continued involvement in public confrontations, noting that he had envisioned a much quieter retirement at this stage of his life.
However, he emphasized that a profound concern for the fate of future generations has left him with little choice but to remain a vocal critic of national issues.
“I have no business in standing before you and talking to you about these issues. I shouldn’t be in trenches now with you but I have children, I have grandchildren,” Galadima confessed during the interview.
Galadima warned that if younger Nigerians continue to show apathy toward the political and economic direction of the country, older citizens might have to adopt extreme measures of resistance to combat systemic injustice and poor leadership.
“And if there are not enough foot soldiers with knowledge to fight what is bad, maybe some of us who are old must take the AK-47 and fight our way through for a better Nigeria,” he stated.
