Former House of Representatives aspirant for Sabon Gari Local Government Area, Muhammad Sadisu Buba, has dismissed criticisms surrounding his age, height and educational qualification, insisting that leadership should be judged by service and vision rather than physical appearance.
Buba made the remarks during an interview on S24 Television while reacting to comments from critics who questioned his suitability for public office because of his stature and perceived limitations.
According to him, the focus of politics should be on competence, ideas and commitment to improving the lives of citizens, rather than superficial attributes. He argued that many people concentrate on irrelevant issues instead of evaluating what a candidate intends to achieve for the electorate.
“It’s not about the age. It’s about what will you do for the people who choose you. Or what is your ambition or what are you trying to do,” he said during the interview.
The former aspirant maintained that leadership is defined by the ability to deliver meaningful development and represent the interests of the people effectively. He noted that history has shown that individuals who may not fit conventional expectations have often emerged as transformational leaders because of their dedication and determination.
Buba also urged young people and aspiring politicians not to be discouraged by criticism or societal stereotypes. He said many Nigerians with the passion to serve are often unfairly judged based on appearance, background or personal circumstances instead of their ideas and capabilities…….See More
