According to a report by The Times Of Israel on May 27, 2026, an official from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said the chances of renewed conflict with the United States remain low, while warning that Tehran is fully prepared to respond to any military action.
Mohammad Akbarzadeh, deputy political chief of the IRGC Navy, said Iran’s armed forces remain on alert and ready for confrontation if necessary. His remarks were carried by the Tasnim news agency amid continued tensions between Tehran and Washington following recent military exchanges in the Gulf region.
“The possibility of war is low because of the enemy’s weakness. The armed forces are lying in wait with full magazines,” Akbarzadeh said.
The Iranian official also issued a direct warning concerning Iran’s southern coastline, stressing that the country would strongly defend its territory against any foreign aggression. He referenced strategic areas stretching from Chabahar in southeastern Iran to Mahshahr in the southwest along the Persian Gulf coast.
“Do not doubt that we will turn the area from Chabahar to Mahshahr into a graveyard for aggressors,” he said.
The comments come as tensions remain high in the Middle East after recent clashes involving Iran and the United States. Iranian officials have repeatedly stated that while they do not seek war, they are prepared to retaliate against attacks targeting the country or its military infrastructure.
