“I Am Sure I Will Win The Election, You Saw The Crowd That Came Out” -Amaechi

Former Rivers State governor and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has expressed confidence in his chances of emerging victorious in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary election.

Amaechi made the statement after participating in the ADC presidential primary election at his ward in Rivers State.

A video shared on the official X account of News Central TV on Monday, May 25, 2026, captured the moment the former governor addressed journalists and supporters shortly after the voting exercise.

Speaking in the viral video, Amaechi said he was optimistic about winning the election because of the large turnout of supporters and the transparent nature of the process in his community.

In his words: “I am sure I will win the election. You saw the crowd that came out. They have counted.”

The former governor further stated that the electoral process in his area appeared transparent and inclusive, while noting that he could not speak for what was happening in other parts of the country.

According to him: “I think it is transparent here but I don’t know about other parts of Nigeria. I don’t know whether it is transparent or not in other places but in this community, everyone is involved, agents are involved.”

Amaechi’s comments have since generated reactions online, especially among supporters and political observers monitoring developments within the ADC ahead of the next general election.

The former Rivers State governor remains one of the most prominent political figures in Nigeria, having served in several key positions, including Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Governor of Rivers State, and Minister of Transportation under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking further in the video, Amaechi emphasized the importance of credibility and transparency during elections, stressing that democratic processes must reflect the will of the people.

In his words: “What matters is that people should be allowed to vote freely and the process should remain open for everybody to see.”

He also praised members of his community for participating peacefully in the exercise and maintaining order throughout the voting process.

According to him: “The people came out peacefully and they participated actively. That is what democracy should look like.” he added…..See More
