Nollywood actress Damilola Oni, popularly known by her stage name BigDamz, has shared amusing reflections on her well-known love for food and the lighthearted teasing she often receives because of it, while also highlighting her journey in the entertainment industry.
In a recent interview with OYINMOMO TV, BigDamz revealed that friends, fans, and even colleagues frequently make playful jokes about her eating habits. She recounted that some people go as far as teasing that if she were to own a restaurant, she might consume all the food herself.
“They always jest that if I own a restaurant, I will finish all the food,” she said, laughing. “It’s all in good fun, and I don’t take it personally. I understand that it’s harmless banter, and I enjoy the laughter it brings.”
BigDamz used the opportunity to reflect on her professional life, emphasizing that acting remains the career path she feels most confident and skilled in pursuing. She recounted that, at one point, she experimented with running a small business selling fashion accessories, hoping to diversify her sources of income.
“Honestly, I tried a little business selling accessories,” she said. “But the challenge was that I often ended up using the items myself instead of selling them. It became hard to sustain the business that way, and I realized that acting is really where I belong.”
Despite that early setback, BigDamz noted that her work in Nollywood has opened doors to additional opportunities beyond acting. She has established herself as a trusted face for advertising campaigns and brand promotions, leveraging her popularity and public image to support businesses.
“I’ve had the chance to work with brands and businesses, and I take pride in helping them gain attention and visibility. People who have worked with me can confirm that I know how to help products and services stand out,” she explained.
The actress emphasized that while her love for food has sparked humor among fans, it has not distracted her from building a reputable career in the entertainment industry. She described herself as someone who balances her personal passions with professional discipline, ensuring that she remains effective in her craft.
BigDamz also discussed the importance of embracing her personality and using it positively. She said that her openness and relatability contribute to her growing fan base and make her approachable for collaborative projects.
