After 13 Years Without A Child And Losing My Uterus, I Finally Became A Mother Of Twins” -Ogunmade

Nigerian entrepreneur and media personality Toyin Lolu Ogunmade has spoken openly about her long struggle with infertility and how surrogacy eventually helped her become a mother.

During a conversation on WakeUp Nigeria, aired on TVC Communications, Toyin shared the challenges she faced during the 13 years she and her husband waited for a child.

She explained that part of the delay was caused by fibroids, which she battled for about six years while hoping to conceive naturally.

After undergoing surgery to remove the fibroids, complications from the procedure led to the loss of the normal function of her uterus. This meant she could no longer carry a pregnancy.

According to Toyin Lolu Ogunmade, the news was emotionally difficult for both her and her husband. Accepting the situation took time, especially as they tried different options to start a family.

Eventually, the couple began to consider surrogacy as a possible solution. At first, she struggled with the social stigma that sometimes surrounds the process.

However, after careful consideration, they decided to move forward with an IVF surrogacy programme in India.

The journey was not easy, as they lost two babies during the pregnancy process. Despite the painful moments, the experience eventually ended in joy when they welcomed twins.

Following the experience, Toyin Lolu Ogunmade established Precious Conceptions, an organisation that helps couples understand fertility treatments and navigate the path to parenthood.
