I Was Very Pretty When I Was Young But I Was Making Sure All My Children Went To University -Funmilayo Omikunle

Funmilayo Omikunle, a remarkably industrious Nollywood actress and retired education director who simultaneously ran a thriving oil distribution business while managing a full-time civil service career, detailed the incredible financial sacrifices she made to send all her children to university during a highly motivating interview on Abiola Adebayo’s “Talk to B” program.

She explained that her civil service salary was never going to be enough to fund her children’s education, so she aggressively expanded into the petroleum business, operating oil sales points across seven different locations in Lagos. By managing massive oil tanks alongside her teaching responsibilities, Funmilayo Omikunle generated the substantial funds her family needed to thrive.

According to her, all her grueling hard work paid off spectacularly, as all her children successfully graduated, with the one residing in Nigeria even obtaining a master’s degree. She used her powerful personal story to urge young women to embrace hard work and completely reject a life of idleness.

She said: “I quickly ran to where I am selling. I was selling in seven places. Ask anybody in that site. I had like three tanks in Nuru, two in Sholui, three in all everywhere. When I bring a tanker of oil like this, I will spread it as a teacher. I put so many things together. I was very pretty when I was young. If you see me, I was working. I was making sure that all my children went to university as a teacher. I was spending the money on my children. Even the one that is in Nigeria, he is a graduate. He had his masters. So make sure you do not live a useless life.”……See More
