Emmanuel Onwubiko of Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria described a series of troubling events that reflect deeper national concerns. Speaking on Symfoni TV, he highlighted reports of mass killings in a community in Kwara State, where hundreds of people were allegedly attacked.
He explained that beyond the reported deaths, many residents were said to have been taken into the bush. According to his account, security forces, including the army, were unable to immediately rescue those captured during the incident.
Onwubiko further emphasized the reaction of the wider public. He noted an apparent absence of nationwide protests or visible outrage following the incident, suggesting a sense of detachment among citizens toward the victims.
In his words, “There are so many things that are wrong in the country. I think 200 or even 300 people were killed in a community in Kwara State. And the remaining population were were captured and taken into the bush. The army couldn’t get those people out at that time. No Nigerian person went to the street to protest. It was as, it’s them. They’re not our people. Let them deal with them”…….See More
