Veteran Yoruba Nollywood actor Ladi Folarin, has shared one of the tough challenges he faces in his job, how exhaustion from long shoots almost cost him his life.
Speaking in an interview on FeelRightNews TV, Folarin explained that the incident happened after a long night of work.
He and his colleagues had just finished acting on set around 6 am in Offa, Kwara State.
He had another movie shoot waiting for him in Lagos and wanted to leave quickly.
Other actors, including Kunle Afod, advised him to rest for about two hours before traveling.
They told him to sleep a little because everyone had been working until dawn. But Folarin refused. He said he would take the risk and drive straight to Lagos.
He had not even left Offa town when things went wrong. While driving, he slept off on the steering wheel. His car left the road and crashed into a bush.
Folarin thanked God that he was not hurt on any part of his body. He also said the car was not badly damaged.
His words: “We finished acting on set around 6 am in Offa, and I had another movie shoot in Lagos, so I wanted to rush out. But the other actors, including Kunle Afod, asked me to stay back and sleep for about two hours before leaving because we had been on set until dawn. I refused and said I would take the risk. I hadn’t even left Offa when I slept off on the steering wheel while driving, and my car left the road and crashed into a bush.
