Veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo has shared a deeply personal reflection on aging, revealing how his family history shaped his outlook on life.
Speaking during an interview on With Chude hosted by Chude Jideonwo, the actor explained why reaching the age of 59 held special significance for him.

According to him, both of his parents passed away before reaching the age of 60. He disclosed that his mother died at 59, while his father passed away in his late 50s. This reality created what he described as a lingering awareness about mortality as he approached the same age.

He shared that focusing on fitness and weight management became an important part of his routine as he worked to avoid repeating the health patterns seen in his family.
The actor emphasized that reaching 59 was not just another birthday but a moment of reflection and gratitude. It marked a turning point where he became even more intentional about his health and longevity.
