According to a report by The sun on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, Nigerian comedian DeeOne, who is also a former Big Brother Naija housemate, has expressed his views on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, stating that while the government may bring challenges for citizens, it represents what he considers the appropriate direction for Nigeria’s progress.
He made this known while speaking on the broader political and governance situation in the country.
He shared his perspective during an appearance on Vanguard’s podcast titled The Nigerian Meter, where he engaged in discussions around national leadership, governance expectations, and the political climate shaping Nigeria.
His comments were centered on how citizens interpret current leadership decisions and the expectations placed on those in power.
In his remarks, DeeOne suggested that the present administration should not be expected to deliver comfort without difficulty, stressing that governance often comes with tough measures that may not immediately favor the public.
He maintained that such conditions are sometimes part of broader national development processes that require patience and understanding from the population.
He further highlighted the political space ahead of the 2027 general elections, noting that opposition groups aiming to take over leadership must be ready to clearly present their intentions.
According to him, Nigerians will increasingly demand clarity on what alternative leadership would bring, especially in areas affecting everyday life such as the economy, governance, and social welfare.
DeeOne added that political competition should go beyond criticism of current leadership, emphasizing that any aspiring governing group must be prepared to present practical and structured plans that address national concerns.
He implied that voters are becoming more attentive to policy direction rather than political promises alone, particularly as the country moves toward another election cycle.
He also restated his belief that the current direction of governance should be understood within a wider national context, where leadership decisions may involve difficult periods that impact citizens differently.
He suggested that such phases are often part of broader efforts aimed at long-term national stability and progress, even if they are not immediately comfortable for the populace.
He said, “Tinubu’s regime won’t be easy for anybody, but it is the way forward and it is the truth.”…..See More
