Atiku Left Wike In PDP, Obi Left Lamidi & Abure In LP, Kwankwaso Left Agbo Major In NNPP, They All Met Nafiu Bala In ADC -Sani

Former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani, has offered a fresh perspective on Nigeria’s evolving political alignments, highlighting what he described as shifting alliances among key opposition figures.

In a post shared on his X handle on Monday, Sani suggested that prominent politicians including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso have moved away from former allies to converge within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

According to him, Atiku distanced himself from Nyesom Wike, while Obi parted ways with figures such as Lamidi Apapa and Julius Abure. He added that Kwankwaso also moved on from Agbo Major, with all of them now having to deal with with a controversial figure called Nafiu Bala Gombe who has been the the thorn on their neck in ADC.

Sani used the analogy of political parties as vehicles to power, likening the choice between forming a new party and adopting an existing one to choosing between a brand-new car and a “Tokunbo” (foreign-used vehicle).

“Politics is not a straight line and not a smooth path. It’s a walk through a landmine and through storms and turbulence,” he stated.

He further stressed that the pursuit of political power comes with significant challenges, citing examples of global and local leaders who endured setbacks before attaining leadership positions. Among those mentioned were former U.S. President Donald Trump, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and late former Nigerian leader Muhammadu Buhari.

According to Sani, the journey to power is often marked by hardship, resistance, and personal sacrifices, warning that those expecting an easy path are unprepared for leadership.

“There is no easy road to power,” he concluded.
