ADC: In The Last 3 Or 4 Weeks, You’ll Be Amazed At How Many People Said We’re Coming To Your Party -PRP Chair

The National Chairman of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has affirmed the party’s preparedness to accommodate new entrants and reposition itself ahead of upcoming electoral activities, despite concerns surrounding time constraints and institutional processes.

Speaking during an interview on Arise Television on Monday, April 20, 2026, Baba-Ahmed addressed questions regarding the viability of the PRP as an alternative political platform, particularly for politicians facing internal challenges within their current parties.

Responding to the inquiry, he stated, “Well, thank you. You used the word viable. You said how viable is the PRP option? I would say very viable.” He added that the party remains open to individuals seeking a new political base, either independently or due to difficulties within their former affiliations.

“Our doors are open to anybody else who wants to come in, either from on their own or because the system has blocked and virtually destroyed their own party,” he added.

Baba-Ahmed disclosed that the party has recently witnessed increased interest from prospective members. “In the last three or four weeks, you will be amazed at how many people have reached out to us to say, we’re coming over to your party,” he noted.

He emphasized the PRP’s historical foundation and ideological stance, stating, “We say our doors are open. We see our role in the next few months is far, far, far greater than anything we’ve done before. We are very humbled by the fact that people are not just coming here as political refugees.”

“They’re coming because we’re a party of principles. We are 70 years old. We’re the oldest party. We’ve always existed on the basis of certain principles. We think that it’s the kind of thing we can do,” he added.

Addressing concerns about the limited timeframe for integration ahead of electoral deadlines, Baba-Ahmed acknowledged the challenge but expressed confidence. “Yes, you correctly raised the issue of time. Time can be a challenge, but we will overcome it,” he stated.

He further commented on public expectations and governance issues, noting, “We know Nigerians are ready for real difference, real change in the way this country is running.”…..See More
