According to a report by Nigerian Tribune on Monday, April 13, 2026, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has called on support groups within the party to intensify efforts in promoting the achievements of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the next general elections.
The appeal was made on Monday during a national symposium organised by the Integrity Group of Nigeria, where party members and supporters gathered to discuss strategies for political engagement and public communication.
The APC chairman, who was represented at the event by Attah Pine, stated that the most effective way to secure public support is by presenting verifiable progress made by the current administration.
He emphasised that citizens should be informed about policies, programmes, and initiatives implemented over the past two years.
According to him, clear communication of government activities will help voters understand the direction of the administration and the outcomes of its decisions in key sectors of the economy and governance.
The symposium brought together various support groups and stakeholders aligned with the ruling party, providing a platform to exchange ideas on civic education and grassroots mobilisation.
During the discussions, participants focused on ways to strengthen connections with communities across the country.
The APC leadership encouraged these groups to play a more active role in engaging citizens at the local level, ensuring that information about government programmes reaches a wider audience.
The emphasis on grassroots involvement reflects the party’s strategy to build support from the bottom up as political activities begin to increase.
In his remarks, Professor Yilwatda highlighted the importance of civic education in shaping public understanding of governance and electoral processes.
He urged support groups to take responsibility for educating voters on how government policies affect their daily lives.
This includes explaining reforms, infrastructure projects, and social programmes in a way that is accessible and relevant to different communities.
By doing so, he said, support groups can help bridge the gap between policy implementation and public awareness, which is often a challenge in large and diverse societies.
The convener of the Integrity Group of Nigeria, Oke Idawene, also addressed participants at the event, outlining the group’s objectives and its alignment with the APC’s political agenda.
He expressed confidence in the leadership of President Tinubu and noted that the group intends to support efforts aimed at communicating government achievements to the public.
His remarks focused on the importance of coordination among support groups to ensure consistent messaging and effective outreach across different regions of the country.
He said, “We are here to support a man helped by God. Bola Tinubu is a man prepared by God. He came prepared and we are here to ensure that all information about the Nigerian state is effectively disseminated.”……See More
