In a video shared by TV Platinum, Femi Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, stated that the police once searched the house of his former client, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, and found a wrap of marijuana under his pillow
Falana stated that the police took the marijuana and led Fela to their vehicle to transport him to the police station in Alagbon, Lagos State. He said Fela asked the police why he was being arrested, and they told him it was because of the marijuana they found in his house
Falana said the police showed the marijuana to Fela and he quickly snatched it and swallowed it to destroy the evidence before they could use it against him
In Falana’s words: “This client of mine, Fela, the police had searched his house with a search warrant and they found nothing. So when they were leaving the house, one of the police officers simply lifted his pillow and found a stick of marijuana. So they took it and they were going. This guy knew he was already in trouble again, so as they were going to the police vehicle to take him to Alagbon, he said, ‘Am I the only one in Nigeria? You searched my house and found nothing, yet you are taking me away’. They said, ‘What do you mean that we found nothing? We found Marijuana’. He said where is it, they showed him and he snatched it and swallowed it to destroy evidence”……See More
