Austin Usman Okai, a senior member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), said rival camps supporting Kwankwaso, Atiku, Tambuwal and Amaechi must be prepared to make sacrifices and rally behind a single ADC candidate.
Speaking in an interview with ARISE TV, Okai stressed that personal ambition often drives politicians even when they invoke national interest or ideology. He said that after the party’s primaries, contenders should be willing to step aside to ensure unity.
Okai added that the ADC’s main priority is unity after the primaries and that the party can field only one flagbearer in the general election. He urged competing factions to put collective strategy above individual ambitions to improve the party’s chances at the polls.
