According to a report by Daily Post on May 14, 2026, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the Tel Aviv District Court that he is in strong health while testifying in a libel case he filed against two journalists and political activist Gonen Ben Yitzhak. The defendants had alleged in 2024 that Netanyahu was suffering from several severe illnesses.
During the hearing, Netanyahu rejected the claims and stated, “My health situation is fine, some would say excellent.” Hebrew media reports said the prime minister firmly denied rumors that he had pancreatic cancer, insisting such claims were baseless. Addressing Ben Yitzhak’s accusation directly, Netanyahu remarked that he would not still be alive if the allegation had been true.
The Israeli leader also provided details about his medical history over the past two years. Netanyahu explained that he underwent surgery in December 2024 because of an enlarged prostate. He said doctors later discovered prostate cancer “towards the end of 2025,” a diagnosis that had not previously been fully disclosed publicly.
Netanyahu revealed that he received five radiation therapy sessions during January and February 2026. According to him, the treatment was successful and completely eliminated the cancer. The disclosure marked the first time the timeline of his illness and treatment had been publicly outlined in detail since he first acknowledged the condition last month.
