The reported defection of prominent members of the ADC, such as Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to the NDC, has disappointed former Minister of Youth and Sports Solomon Dalung.
Dalung stated during an interview on Silverbird Television that many members who helped form the coalition were taken aback by the event. He claims that he maintains a strong bond with both politicians, but that prior to their reported departure, neither of them had told him about any issues with the coalition.
Obi and Kwankwaso are respected political leaders, according to Dalung, and he predicted that members of the coalition will make sacrifices and stay united in order to address the country’s key problems.
He emphasized that the hunger and insecurity facing Nigerians are more pressing issues than individual political aspirations. He also raised the possibility of communication issues inside the coalition, which may have led to the defection of certain members to rival political organizations.
The former minister emphasized that if opposition leaders genuinely want to address the problems confronting the nation and provide Nigerians with a better political option in advance of upcoming elections, unity is crucial.
