A relative of the kidnapped sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has shared a painful account of the incident, revealing how the victims were allegedly intercepted and abducted by armed men in Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to a report by Arise News, the relative, identified as Esther Olubunmi, described herself as someone who is like a mother to the victim and spoke about the circumstances surrounding the abduction.
Recounting the incident, she said: “When she got to the junction, some men stopped her car and took her and her sons away.”
Olubunmi explained that the victims were driving out of the street when they encountered the attackers, who intercepted their vehicle and prevented them from continuing their journey.
According to her, the incident happened suddenly, leaving the family devastated and worried about the safety of their loved ones.
The report also cited the spokesperson of the Oyo State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, who provided further details about the attack.
According to the police, the kidnappers smashed the vehicle’s windows in a school area before dragging the woman and her two sons out of the car.
The abduction has sparked concern among residents and family members, who have continued to pray for the safe return of the victims.
Meanwhile, the Oyo State Police Command has confirmed that tactical teams have been deployed to the area as part of efforts to rescue the victims and apprehend those responsible.
Authorities have also launched an investigation and urged members of the public to provide any information that could assist security operatives in their ongoing efforts.
As the search continues, relatives remain hopeful that the victims will be safely reunited with their family.
