Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Babachir Lawal has alleged that the returning officer in Adamawa State openly admitted to him that results in the ADC presidential primary were falsified to prevent Atiku Abubakar from losing in his home state.
Speaking on TVC, Babachir said, “Hayatu Deen won by a landslide in Adamawa. Even the returning officer at the state level was telling me, when I complained about how these results were not reflected on the result tally he had. He said, ‘How can we embarrass Atiku Abubakar in his home state?’ Can you imagine that? I said, ‘Your duty is not to decide that. Your duty is to collect the results as submitted to you”
Babachir Lawal said he had concrete figures to back his allegation, citing his own local government as a specific example where the announced results were later reversed by the time they reached Abuja.
He said Hayatu Deen had polled approximately 20,000 votes in his local government against Atiku’s roughly 1,000 figures that were counted, announced at the ward level, and collated at the local government, only for the final results submitted to the national body to tell a completely different story…….See More
