Senator Shehu Sani, a renowned human rights activist and former Kaduna central senatorial district lawmaker has sent a strong warning to former President Tinubu’s ally and ADC Chieftain, Babachir Lawal over his comments directed towards Atiku Abubakar.
According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle on Tuesday June 2nd, 2026 he pointed out that linking the former vice president to banditry was unacceptable.
Babachir Lawal, it can be recalled, stirred massive controversies after he made a stunning remark on the actions of the ADC Chieftain, confidently stating that the Waziri of Adamawa had links to bandits.
However, Senator Shehu Sani, while replying to the comments of Babachir Lawal, pointed out while Atiku Abubakar might have a strained relationship with his people, linking him to bandit activities was utterly disrespectful.
He further urged Babachir Lawal to tender an unreserved apology as his comments, especially calling the Elderstateman a ‘Kachalla’ (interpreted as bandit leader) might trigger unrest.
