The abducted principal of Community Grammar School, Esiele, Alamu Folawe, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu and security agencies not to use force against the kidnappers holding them captive.
Her plea was contained in a report published by PUNCH on Friday, May 29, 2026.
According to report, the abduction took place on May 15, 2026, when gunmen attacked three schools and kidnapped seven teachers and 39 students. The affected schools are Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele, Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yamota, and L.A. Primary School, Alawusa.
Speaking from captivity, Folawe said a previous rescue attempt by security operatives worsened their situation. According to her, the kidnappers became more violent after the operation and threatened to kill one of the victims.
She pleaded with the government to negotiate with the kidnappers instead of using force, saying peaceful dialogue would help secure their safe release.
