During a case hearing on Justice Court TV, two estranged lovers, Peace Ejiro Emojewve and Chigozie David Nwafor, returned to court over the upkeep of the child they had together and to determine the paternity of the child.

According to the information presented, Peace Ejiro Emojewve was asking the court to compel her alleged baby daddy to take responsibility for the child’s upkeep, while the defendant, David, was demanding access to the child.

Revealing the reason he decided to conduct a DNA test on his alleged child before Justice Funmi Asaolu, David said, “It has been mentioned several times during our conversation; the aspect that you are not the father has been mentioned several times, so I just felt I should conduct the test.

“That was the reason why I said, ‘Okay, let me be sure.’ That statement came up as a result of… maybe she wants to come and see the child, and I take the boy to see her outside, and there were statements like, ‘Don’t worry, just enjoy it while it lasts,’ you know, that kind of statement.

“There was also a time the child’s father called me to discuss some matters, and maybe I did not respond in the way he expected. So during that process, the thought came up, and I decided to do the test to be sure of what I was doing.”
