Dr. Wale Bolorunduro, who served as Osun State Commissioner for Finance during the first term of Mr Rauf Aregbesola as governor of the state, has said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a Yoruba man and deserves support for a second term.
In an interview with the NIGERIAN TRIBUNE on Saturday, April 25, 2026, Bolorunduro said if a former northern president was allowed to complete two terms in office despite what he described as poor performance in some areas, then there is no reason to deny a southern Yoruba leader a second term in office.
He also said he had worked with Tinubu on economic and finance discussions during his time as commissioner and believes Nigeria has not had a president since 1999 with such a strong understanding of finance and the economy.
He added that what the president needs is a team of capable people who can turn his ideas into real actions, stressing the importance of character, skill, and competence in leadership.
