According to a report by the Punch on Monday, May 25, 2026, the Chairman of the Northern Christian Association, Rev. Hayab also emphasised the importance of sincerity in leadership decisions, saying political office holders must be guided by truth rather than personal interest or political advantage. He explained that Nigeria’s progress depends heavily on leaders who are accountable and willing to put the nation first.
In his words, Rev. Hayab stated, “Political actors must fear God, be honest with themselves and speak the truth,” urging those in authority to consistently act with conscience and transparency in all their dealings.
He further encouraged Nigerians of different faiths to continue promoting peaceful coexistence, adding that national unity remains essential for development. According to him, no meaningful progress can be achieved in an environment of division, mistrust, or religious intolerance.
The cleric concluded by warning that leadership is a responsibility that will ultimately be accounted for, urging politicians to consider the long-term consequences of their actions on the country and future generations……See More
