Oluseun Onigbinde, co-founder of BudgiT, said he resigned as Technical Adviser to the Minister of State for Budget and National Planning in September 2019 after he was asked to apologize to then President Muhammadu Buhari for his past criticism of him
In an interview with Edmund Obilo, Onigbinde said he was under pressure to issue the apology but refused to do so. He stated that instead of complying, he chose to step down from the position.
In Onigbinde words: “I just wanted to serve this country and if I can’t do it in an atmosphere of trust there is no point. I dropped my resignation and the minister accepted it and I left. I thanked him for the opportunity (in the letter). There was a bit of pressure to apologize to the president, Muhammadu Buhari, and I didn’t understand, I refused”……See More
