Buhari & His People Walked Into My Office Accusing Me Of Giving PDP Preference, I Remanded Calm -Ahmed

National Chairman of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has recounted a heated episode involving former President Muhammadu Buhari during the 2003 general elections, when he served as Secretary of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Speaking during an interview on Arise News, Baba-Ahmed revisited his time at the electoral body, describing the intense political atmosphere that surrounded the early years of Nigeria’s Fourth Republic elections. He pointed to a particular incident in 2003 when Buhari, then a presidential candidate for the first time, visited his office over concerns of alleged bias.

According to him, the visit was tense, with Buhari arriving alongside his entourage and strongly expressing dissatisfaction with the conduct of the electoral process.

“President Buhari was running for the first time in 2003 election. Him and his whole retinue of people walked into my office as Secretary of INEC and shouting or accusing me of giving PDP a preference as against them. I remained calm,” he said.
