Speaking on recent developments, the cleric said the coming weeks would be critical for the country, particularly if urgent steps are not taken by authorities to ease growing economic pressure on citizens.
“Hardship in couple of weeks if the government did not work hard… can cause issues and can cause protest in Nigeria,” Ayodele said.
His remarks come amid ongoing concerns over inflation, fuel costs, and the general cost of living, which have continued to place strain on households across the country.
Ayodele also raised alarm over the aviation sector, linking its stability to the unresolved fuel situation. According to him, airlines may face serious operational challenges if the issue is not addressed promptly.
“In the next three weeks, two weeks, if there is no solution about the fuel issue, Nigeria airlines may shut down,” he warned.
The prediction highlights the potential ripple effects of fuel shortages or pricing challenges, particularly for airlines that rely heavily on aviation fuel to sustain operations. Industry experts have previously cautioned that rising fuel costs could force carriers to scale back services or suspend flights.
Ayodele’s comments add to a growing chorus of concern about Nigeria’s economic direction, as stakeholders continue to urge swift policy responses to prevent further escalation……See More
