Tinubu: If He’s Confident, Tell Him To Tell Nuhu Ribadu To Leave Then Judiciary And INEC Alone-Amaechi

Former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has raised concerns over alleged interference in key national institutions, as political tensions continue to build ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television on Friday, April 17, 2026, Amaechi responded to remarks made by the president, who had earlier expressed confidence in his political standing during a meeting with Renewed Hope Ambassadors.

The interviewer noted that the president appeared unfazed by the growing opposition coalition and described his posture as confident, stating he was not intimidated and believed electoral victory was assured.

In response, Amaechi questioned the basis of such confidence, alleging undue influence over critical democratic institutions. He said, “If he’s confident, tell him to tell Nuhu Ribadu to leave the judiciary and INEC alone. If he’s confident. Why apply the use of the institutions, the federal institutions against the ADC? Tell him that if he’s confident, he should instruct his National Secretary Adviser to leave the judiciary and INEC alone and see whether he’ll win the election.”

Amaechi’s remarks referenced the NSA, Nuhu Ribadu, prompting further clarification from the interviewer, who described the statement as a strong allegation and sought specifics regarding claims of intimidation involving the judiciary and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Responding to the follow-up question, Amaechi declined to elaborate further. He stated, “I will not explain. If you don’t have eyes, leave it. He’s been to, he knows that. And he brags about it. That’s the funny part of it.”…..See More
