Former Kano State governorship candidate Jafar Sani Bello has strongly disagreed with Minister of Defence retired General Christopher Musa’s assertion that everyone killed in the Jilili market airstrike was supplying goods to terrorists.
Speaking in an interview with Daily Trust, Bello said, “I would like to call on him (Gen. Musa) to desist from making reckless and immoral statements. If it is true that no innocent life was lost and all of them were culprits or associated with or assisting the bandits, why is a commission of inquiry necessary? Why is an investigation ongoing up till now?”
He described the minister’s comments as both reckless and immoral, arguing that they contradict the basic principles of international law.
He stressed that the incident occurred on a market day and that no investigation into the identities of those who died had been concluded at the time the statement was made, pointing to hospitalised survivors with varying degrees of injuries as evidence that civilians were caught in the strike…..See More
