If Buhari Were To Be Alive, He Will Be In ADC And Many Will Join To Remove Tinubu And Him-Sowore

According to a report by Symfoni TV, on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, activist and former presidential candidate Omoleye Sowore spoke on current political developments in Nigeria while addressing journalists after a court appearance.

Sowore used the opportunity to comment on party politics, government actions, and what he described as inconsistencies among political actors.

During his remarks, he criticised the conduct of some politicians, especially those who move across parties while presenting themselves as agents of change.

He said, “If Buhari were to be alive, he would be in ADC, and all these people would go and join the ADC and tell you that they want to drive Tinubu away with Buhari.”

Sowore made this statement while reacting to what he called a pattern of political alignment based on convenience rather than principle.

He suggested that many politicians often shift positions depending on the political climate, especially as elections approach.

Speaking further, he referenced past political alliances, noting that individuals who once supported former President Muhammadu Buhari later changed positions.

According to him, such changes raise questions about consistency and sincerity in Nigerian politics.

The activist also addressed issues related to democracy and governance. He criticised what he described as the use of state power to limit opposition activities.

He stated that all political parties should have equal access to public facilities and freedom to operate without interference.

Sowore pointed out that preventing opposition parties from holding events or conventions is not good for democracy.

He stressed that political competition should be fair and open, allowing citizens to make informed choices.

During the interaction, he also spoke about an ongoing legal matter involving him.

He explained that the case had been adjourned due to the absence of the judge, adding that a new date was being considered. He maintained that he was ready to continue with the legal process.

Sowore touched on broader national issues, including leadership and development.

He said every part of Nigeria has value and potential, noting that both the northern and southern regions contribute to the country’s growth.

He emphasised that the focus should be on good leadership rather than regional sentiments. According to him, Nigeria’s progress depends on leaders who can manage resources effectively and ensure fairness across all regions.

His comments come at a time when political activities are gradually increasing ahead of future elections, with different parties and figures making moves that could shape the country’s political landscape…..See More
