Isaac Fayose has reacted to the appointment of his elder brother, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, as chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), suggesting the timing was influenced by a recent visit from Peter Obi.

In a video shared on his Facebook page, Isaac argued that the appointment was not one of the highest positions the government could have offered. He said his brother was not made a minister or ambassador but was instead given the chairmanship of a government agency.

According to him, the appointment came shortly after Peter Obi visited him on Saturday. He claimed the government decided to appoint his brother because of that visit, saying it wanted to create influence within their family.

Isaac also recalled that Ayo Fayose had previously told him that after leaving office as governor, he did not want to return to public service in any capacity. He said his brother had planned to focus entirely on his private businesses and had been financially successful long before entering politics.

He further described the appointment as a “Greek gift,” suggesting it was intended to draw his brother back into government and possibly weaken the family’s relationship with Obi.

Isaac questioned why the appointment had not been offered earlier if the government truly wanted his brother to serve. He argued that the timing, coming soon after Obi’s visit, raised questions about the reasons behind the decision.
