Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser on Policy Communications to President Bola Tinubu, criticised Peter Obi over several past incidents, questioning the former Labour Party presidential candidate’s conduct while discussing political accountability during a televised interview on Sunday evening nationwide.
According to a video posted on the official YouTube channel of TVC News, while responding to questions about Peter Obi and opposition politics, Bwala raised concerns regarding actions he attributed to the former presidential candidate.
Bwala referred to events involving Obi in Lagos and remarks allegedly made during a recent trip to Europe, arguing those incidents raised questions about political responsibility, while maintaining that public officials should exercise restraint in their public statements always.
During the interview, he stated, “he broke airport traffic rules. His car was clamped, and he said his life was threatened. He went to Europe just a few days ago and said the Governor of Benue State wanted to kill him. Is this honorable?”
His remarks reflected his personal criticism of Obi’s conduct and public comments, while the interview focused broadly on governance, security, the economy, opposition politics, and issues expected to shape political discussions before the 2027 general election across Nigeria.
Throughout the conversation, Bwala defended the Tinubu administration’s policies, insisting the government remained committed to improving security and strengthening the economy, despite criticism from opposition figures and concerns expressed by many Nigerians about current living conditions nationwide.
