Kenneth Okonkwo, a Chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC and respected legal practitioner has launched a scathing verbal attack on the All Progressive Congress, APC over their statements on the rescue of the school children in Oriire, Oyo State.
According to his statements which were shared on his official X handle on Sunday July, 2026 he pointed out that the APC was a party that came to office through deception.
His comments came amid the heated arguments that trailed the statements made by the senior special adviser on media to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga regarding the release of the abducted school children and their teachers.
Bayo Onanuga, it can be recalled, had stated that the pupils and their teachers were released without the payment of ransom, a statement which triggered massive public reactions as it contradicted the explanation given by one of the teachers, Mr Olatunde Zacchaeus.
Kenneth Okonkwo, widely admired for his outspokenness, pointed out that the APC administration was well known for propaganda, a tool he said the party used against former president Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.
The former president, according to Kenneth Okonkwo, was booted out of office through name-calling by the then minister for information, Lai Mohammed and his cohorts.
