According to a report from Arise News on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, President of Truth Be Told Network, Bola Bakare, has offered an optimistic take on the fictitious federal agency scandal.
He argued the exposure presents Nigeria with a rare chance to confront the country’s chaotic proliferation of government agencies.
Bakare used a cultural analogy rooted in African wisdom, noting that a falling child looks ahead in confusion, while a mature adult looks back to understand what caused the fall.
He used the metaphor to justify his welcoming stance toward the controversy.
He said: “Honestly, I will say something to Nigerians, I’m happy this is happening. People will probably look at me and say Bola are you alright, I’m alright, unlike a falling kid, a mature person looks back to see what tripped them.’
‘That’s why I am happy this is happening so we can put a stop to it. If you look in Nigeria the ministries we have in Nigeria is 40 or there about but when we come to Agencies, honestly no body in Nigeria knows how many Agencies we have in the hundred.’
‘If Adeyemi had been quit and not garulious, he would have join the hundred of the Agencies and we would be worse for it because as we speak these agencies are making Nigeria uncomfortable.”
Bakare’s remarks highlight growing concern over Nigeria’s overlapping government agencies operating with little oversight.
