Katz also reacted sharply to scenes from the funeral procession where some mourners called for retaliation against U.S. President Donald Trump. He described those chants as shameful and said they reflected what he considers the true character of Iran’s ruling ayatollah-led government.
At the same time, the defense minister maintained that the recent military campaign carried out by Israel and the United States had significantly weakened Iran’s strategic military capabilities while removing what he described as an immediate threat to Israel’s existence.
