Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has reacted to the outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in Benue State, drawing attention to what he described as a remarkable political development involving the family of former Senate President David Mark.
The APC primaries produced several notable outcomes ahead of the next round of elections, including the emergence of Regina Akume as the party’s candidate for the Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency. Regina Akume is the wife of George Akume, a prominent APC figure and current Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
In a separate contest, Blessing Onuh secured the APC ticket for the Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency.
Her emergence attracted widespread attention because she is the daughter of David Mark, who currently serves as the National Chairman of the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC), a party positioning itself as a major challenger to the ruling APC.
Reacting to the developments in a post shared on his official X account on Monday, May 18, 2026, Keyamo noted the unusual political situation created by the outcome of the primaries.
According to him, the development could mean that members of David Mark’s family may campaign for both the APC and ADC during the presidential and National Assembly elections.
The minister also added a lighthearted remark to his reaction by using the popular Gen Z expression, “Everywhere Go First Blur,” suggesting that the unfolding political alignments in Benue State have added a surprising twist to the state’s political landscape ahead of the elections…….See More
