According to Fox News, the United States is intensifying pressure on Iran through a combination of military force and economic restrictions, as officials warn that more than 2,000 rockets and drones have already been launched in the escalating conflict.
Speaking on Fox News, former CENTCOM deputy commander Admiral Mark Fox said the situation is evolving rapidly, describing it as “a lot of moving pieces” with significant geopolitical implications.
“The key thing to focus on is the fact that the Iranian economy is driven by revenue from oil,” Fox explained. “When we enforce the blockade, they cease receiving the vast majority of the money they use to fuel their economy, their proxies, and to build rockets.”
The remarks came shortly after a statement from the U.S. president signaled a hardline stance, highlighting the role of American B-2 bombers and asserting that Washington would retain control over nuclear-related outcomes. The president also emphasized that any agreement would not involve financial exchange and would remain separate from ongoing tensions involving Lebanon and Hezbollah.
Fox described the strategy as “hard, real military action” designed to impose economic strain on Tehran, limiting its ability to fund regional operations and weapons development.
Meanwhile, attention is turning to the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil transit route. U.S. forces are maintaining a strong presence, with approximately 15 naval vessels deployed to secure the waterway.
