According to Aljazeera News, the US Navy has attacked and seized an Iranian vessel in the Gulf of Oman, drawing sharp condemnation from Tehran, which called the operation an act of piracy and threatened retaliation. The incident threatens to derail fragile US-Iran negotiations currently hosted by Pakistan.
According to US officials, the ship was intercepted for allegedly transporting illicit weapons to regional proxies.
