Eyewitnesses have recounted how a disagreement in the Ojoo area of Ibadan, Oyo State, escalated into a violent clash that left one person dead, several others injured and property destroyed.
According to The Nation, residents said what started as a minor altercation quickly degenerated into widespread violence, throwing the community into chaos.
One of the eyewitnesses, Azeez Olamiposi, alleged that the unrest broke out on Wednesday morning after residents gathered to seek clarification over the reported killing of a person in the area.
He explained that tensions escalated when members of different groups confronted one another, resulting in a violent clash that rapidly spread across the community.
Another resident alleged that the confrontation involved Hausa-Fulani scavengers, popularly known as “Bowler Boys,” and Yoruba traders operating in the area. The source claimed the disagreement later turned deadly, leading to the death of an unidentified Yoruba woman who reportedly attempted to intervene and stop the fight.
“She saw the fight and tried to separate them.
