I Pleaded With Them I Was Sick And One Of Them Said ”It’s That Sickness That Will Kill You -Augustine

A family member of one of the victims caught up in the recent kidnap attempt along the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Nasarawa border, Purity Augustine, has recounted the harrowing ordeal she endured after being forced by suspected kidnappers to trek through difficult terrain despite being ill.

Augustine shared her experience during an interview on Arise News, describing the conditions she and other victims allegedly faced while in the custody of the armed men. Her account comes as security agencies continue investigating the activities of the suspected kidnapping syndicate following the arrest of several suspects.

According to Augustine, her husband briefly returned before the kidnappers ordered them to continue moving toward a hill. She said her health condition made the journey extremely difficult, but her pleas for compassion were ignored by the abductors.

“My husband managed to come back and they now came back to me and we trekked to that hill. I can’t climb the hill because I was sick that period and I pleaded with them that I was sick and one of them told me that it is that sickness that will kill me,” she said.

Augustine’s testimony paints a grim picture of the treatment allegedly meted out to victims during the abduction. She said the kidnappers showed no concern for her condition, forcing her to continue despite her repeated appeals.

Her account adds to other testimonies from survivors and suspects following police operations against the gang, which investigators believe was responsible for a series of kidnappings around the FCT and neighbouring Nasarawa State.

Security agencies have intensified efforts to dismantle kidnapping networks operating within the region, with authorities promising that those responsible for violent crimes will be brought to justice…..See More
